Aviagen shares management advice for peak flock performance
The Goiania Poultry Association (AGA) and the Veterinary and Animal Science School of the Federal University of Goias have been successfully hosting the annual symposium since 1995 as a forum for poultry professionals throughout the state to share ideas, business opportunities and news regarding current poultry activities.
At the symposium, Aviagen’s Dr. Rodrigo Tedesco, regional technical services supervisor focusing on broilers, presented the topic “Broiler management – aiming for high performance,” explaining the peak Ross 308 AP (AP95) productivity that can be achieved when best flock management practices are used.
"My presentation demonstrated the importance of using the right management tools at every stage of production to ensure high performance,” said Tedesco.
“Good stockmanship means that you monitor flock conditions using all five senses: sight, touch, hearing, smell, and taste. It also means managing the water and food consumption of day-old chicks, as well as correctly controlling housing environment variables, such as temperature, humidity, ventilation and air quality. I was honored to have the opportunity to address the audience of poultry professionals at the Goiania Symposium and received positive feedback that the information was well received.”
“Our continual goal is to help customers in Goias and all of Brazil reach the best possible performance and experience great success with Ross 308 AP (AP95) flocks,” says Marco Aurelio Araujo, technical services manager for Aviagen in Brazil.
