Event kicked off as Avícola Sofía celebrated 40 years of success in Bolivian market
Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia – Aviagen® Latin America attended and served as a platinum sponsor of the eighth annual Seminário Alimenta, Bolivia’s premiere event for professionals in the poultry, livestock and restaurant industries. Avícola Sofía hosted the event -- which took place in the halls of Expocruz Fair in Santa Cruz, Oct. 13-14 -- and welcomed more than 800 honored guests.
Each year Seminário Alimenta features prestigious national and international speakers who offer their knowledge and expertise during training seminars designed to promote the business development and growth of Avícola Sofía customers and partners. Aviagen has participated as a sponsor since the event’s inception in 2009.
In addition to offering opportunities for sharing knowledge on the latest developments, innovations and best management practices in the industry, Seminário Alimenta provides an exhibition area for Avícola Sofía customers to showcase their products. Avícola Sofía is a valued customer of Aviagen’s Ross® 308 AP brand of broiler breeders.
“At Sofía, we believe that training and development of our talent is key to maintaining our leadership position and continuing our upward growth,” said CEO Mario Anglarill. “Events such as Seminário Alimenta help us to meet this goal, and we appreciate Aviagen’s ongoing support of this important event, as well as our long-standing, collaborative business partnership.” (Pictured left to right: Julio Enrique, Project Manager Avicola Sofia; Mario Anglarill, CEO Avicola Sofia; Ullrich Koehler, business manager for Aviagen Latin America, and Jairo Agostini, sales manager for Bolivia)

Celebrating 40 years of success
This year marks a significant milestone for Avícola Sofía as it celebrates four decades of supplying its customers with high-quality products. Although the Avícola Sofía brand took root in the poultry industry in 1976, it has since diversified its production into pork and beef, and has introduced to the market a unique line of sausages and frozen products.
On Sept. 27, as the company celebrated the occasion, it also inaugurated a brand new administrative building in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
“We congratulate Avicola Sofia for its 40 years of bringing delicious and nutritious foods to the tables of Bolivian families,” concluded Cesio.
